At this point, is this surprising? No, the incestuous relationship between the politicians, the C.E.O.’s of big banking and the regulatory agencies have created an environment that lends itself to such blatant fiscal irresponsibility. Alan Greenspan said it himself when he said that he had made a mistake about deregulation and its outcome. He said “I thought that they would regulate themselves because it was in their self-interest, I guess I was wrong”. Attitudes like that and the banker’s knowledge that they will never be criminally prosecuted for any shenanigans and that they have created banks so huge that no matter what if they go down we have to bail them out or risk economic armageddon makes for a pass for them to do as they please. I don’t see how this is going to change, it’s been decades in the making and the climate in D.C doesn’t appear to want to change it either.

Actually, I am planning to write a book in the future. This website is one of the tools that I am utilizing to practice my writing skills, exercise using my voice and really finding out what I have to say. I know that I have a lot of stories from my childhood and my adult life but who would really be interested. I would need to find something in my life to make it relevant to others and I don’t think that I’m quite there yet. I have also used my blog site to showcase my writing of political commentary that I generate as a Huffington Post reader. I really enjoy posting comments to the articles that resonate with me because for good or bad the Huffington Post community responds very often and it leads to interesting debates. I started to cross posts my comments onto word press to see if my comments would elicit some comments. All I have gotten so far are websites trying to use my blog site to advertise their own wares. Don’t worry, those websites have all been spammed. I have also thought about writing a book of family recipes and how they all reflect some tradition and importance throughout my entire family. I could group the recipe book into segments dedicated to regions, chronological development of my own cooking, inspirational cooking lessons from my aunts and my parents and so forth.
For the present, I was thinking that after an entire years worth of posts, 365 posts to be exact that they would be enough to call them a compilation of something. It might be worthwhile to see if I could weave the individual posts into a seamless tapestry of thoughts, emotions and opinions and I almost forgot, stories. This is a writing adventure and I intend to follow my journey to its conclusion and who knows, the journey might never end.
