Believe or not, while my daughter is taking this picture of us, I am being eaten alive by black flies, sweating buckets, elbow deep in dirt and taking a break from planting annuals so that she can give me some added courage via a kiss. Today we were promised thunderstorms, even though the air is heavy with humidity and the wind is blowing, no rain in sight as of 3:00 so I watered anyway, better be safe than sorry.

Here are the fruits of my labor:

In the back, my littlest rose bush bloomed and my peonies are about to erupt in gorgeous pinkness, the orginal rose bush has started to produce the many roses that I have come to expect year after year, the back yard smells so very sweet.
